The Nikon EM is a manual focus, 35mm SLR camera. It is designed for simpler use and for photographers with fewer demands of their cameras. It is an ideal camera for hobbyists. The Nikon EM operates primarily in an aperture priority exposure mode, where the aperture is manually selected on the lens and the camera automatically chooses the correct shutter speed to match. This makes metering with the EM fast and easy. It does have a manual 1/90th of a second shutter speed, as well as Bulb mode for long exposures. The EM accepts films between 25-1600 ISO. The camera also has a self-timer and hotshoe for attaching flash units.
This camera is designed to work with Nikon AI lenses. It is also compatible with AIS lenses, but should not be used with Non-AI lenses.
